4th Grade

Sarah Wauson

My name is Sarah Wauson. This is my 8th year as an educator and my first year at George C. Clarke as a Fourth Grade Math/Science teacher. Previously, I taught in Victoria, TX for 3 years in fourth and second grade before moving to the DFW area in 2020. I spent the last 3 years as a second grade educator in Alvarado, TX. I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with an ESL certification (Hook ‘Em Horns!).

When I am not teaching I enjoy traveling and volunteering in the community. I also enjoy spending time with my husband and two dogs (Trooper and Ranger). My favorite hobbies are reading, crochet, and attending Comic Cons.

Maria Carranza

Hello! My name is Maria Carranza. I attended George C Clarke as a child, so I am excited to be returning to George C Clarke as a teacher. I graduate in 2013 from Texas Wesleyan University with a bachelor’s degree in bilingual education. This is the beginning of my 8th year as a teacher and 11th year in education. Learning is very fundamental and without it we can’t be successful. “I can learn anything. I can know anything. I can be anything.” Besides being a teacher, I am a mom to two beautiful girls that keep me on my toes. We also have a Papillon and Love Birds, so the house is hardly ever quiet. We love to travel and explore new places especially when they have to do with food or activities the girls will enjoy. :) ¡Hola! :)
