Instructional Support

Regina Maldonado
Hello, my name is Regina Maldonado and I was born and raised in Fort Worth. I graduated from Texas Wesleyan University with a degree in elementary education with an early childhood specialization. This is my sixth year as an instructional coach at George C. Clarke. I began teaching here in 2004 after spending nine years at Worth Heights Elementary. Joining the GCC team has definitely been a highlight in my career. I have taught third, fourth, and fifth grades, but my heart is with those energetic fifth graders. I love the family atmosphere here at Clarke and the positivity of the teachers and staff. I would not want to work anywhere else. I have two children who currently attend Clarke in fifth and second, and a seventh and twelfth grader who came to school here.
My husband Jesse and I have a total of nine children. Yes, nine. Our oldest is 28 and our youngest is 6. They definitely keep us busy, but when I do have some spare time I like trying new recipes and I love to shop. I also love traveling, especially to the beach, and spending time with my family and friends.

Kyle Murphy
Hi! My name is Kyle Murphy and I have the pleasure of serving as the Data Analyst/Testing Coordinator for the 2022-2023 school year at George C. Clarke. This is my 4th year at Clarke and my 2nd in this role. I love the sense of community that you feel the second you turn into the neighborhood and the family atmosphere that has been built within our school. For the 11 years prior to coming to Clarke I taught PreK, kindergarten, 3rd and 4th grades in Killeen ISD, Dallas ISD, and Fort Worth ISD. I have also taught future teachers at the University of North Texas. In 2017, I earned my PhD in Literacy from the University of North Texas with plans of staying at the collegiate level; however, I realized that my passion lies with elementary children. My husband Josh and I have a spunky 1st grader along with 4 rambunctious dogs. There is never a dull moment in the Murphy household. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, being in the sun, riding ATVs, spending time with my mom, and enjoying pretty days and live music out on a local patio.

Angelica Ortiz, PK teacher
My name is Angelica Ortiz . I have been teaching for 11 years in FWISD. I've had the privilege of teaching Pre-k, second, third, fourth, and fifth grade.
Each year I strive to build a strong relationship with my students and their families. I truly believe that building relationships and getting to know each and every one of them as human beings makes an impactful difference in their academics. I graduated from Texas Wesleyan University with a bachelors degree in education with an emphasis in math and early childhood. I love to learn so I returned to Texas Wesleyan University to obtain my Masters. I feel as educators we never stop learning. We need to learn new ways to constantly modify our way of teaching.

Maria Carranza
Hello! My name is Maria Carranza. I attended George C Clarke as a child, so I am excited to be returning to George C Clarke as a teacher. I graduate in 2013 from Texas Wesleyan University with a bachelor’s degree in bilingual education. This is the beginning of my 8th year as a teacher and 11th year in education. Learning is very fundamental and without it we can’t be successful. “I can learn anything. I can know anything. I can be anything.” Besides being a teacher, I am a mom to two beautiful girls that keep me on my toes. We also have a Papillon and Love Birds, so the house is hardly ever quiet. We love to travel and explore new places especially when they have to do with food or activities the girls will enjoy. :) ¡Hola! :)

I have taught in Fort Worth ISD for 17 years. I have loved and learned every minute! I look forward to growing with my students. I have been married for over a decade and I have one son. We are a very busy family. We like to be active when at home with swimming, riding dirt bikes and go karts, visiting parks and arcades. I love to be artistic (not the greatest but that's the point of trying!) and crafty when I have the time.
